Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is well-known for her stellar performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. She won several awards like an Oscar for the film Piano. In her early years, the accomplished actress began playing on stage for various Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. Since the time she was in school, she portrayed Helen Keller in a play in the fifth grade. Following a bout of mumps, she became deaf in one of the sides the ear. This was not enough to stop her desire to pursue a career as an actress. As a young woman she took classes in drama at college and moved to New York City from Pittsburgh to pursue her ambitions. Hunter made her Broadway debut due to an accidental encounter in the company of Beth Henley, a playwright. The two worked together on Broadway Crimes of the Heart. After moving to Los Angeles she tried to get film roles and bagged an acting role as a support on Swing Shift. Holly Hunter has been in numerous movies, television shows and films over the course of a 30-year career. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was also awarded her the Women in Film Lucy Award.
